Ordered this for my nieces as they love all new sims 3 add ons and just a warning to future buyers - it does not come with a dvd rom like advertised.
At least theirs did not. Instead it comes with a code that you use on the ea website to download the content. My nieces said the code worked fine and thanked me for the game but if your expecting a dvd rom for the Told EA as well as Amazon that there was no dvd and both thought there should be one but all it had was an unlock code.
Hope Amazon changes it's advertising so others don't get mislead. I am still unsure if no dvd or cd was normal until more people complain but I thought I would pass on my experience with the game in question.
I was hoping for more cc than this provided, the World itself is good, nothing too special. I was worried about buying something like this online considering it's a redeemable code.
I was pleased to find that it was sealed in the box and I redeemed the code with no problems. Barnacle Bay is a good town to add to your Sim collection.
If you've been with the series for long enough, you'll recognize the Caliente sisters and their roommate when you enter the town. It's one of my personal favorites about it. It's also an island that is pirate themed so if that's not your thing I don't suggest this town to you. In short, buy it if you love Sims. If you can get a good deal. I decided to finally pick this up. Especially because it's so cheap now.
I haven't played in the world very much but from what I've seen, it seems very lacking in things to do. Goes great with Island Paradise's house boats if you want a truly pirate sim haha. One person found this helpful. Online redemption code online, never produced a disc for this add on to The Sims 3. Easy to use, package arrived on the on time, case was platic wrapped and new. I was excited to see that I could get this on DVD since I do not have a good enough internet connection to download this from the Sims 3 site.
Unfortunately this is just a CODE for the download. I am returning it since I cannot use it. I am extremely frustrated. Neither the packaging nor the website at the time of writing this review say that this is a download only game expansion pack. Hopefully they will fix this soon. EDIT: They now note that no disc is included. Origin also keeps your game updated for you. You can do this in The Sims 3 Launcher.
